Biography
For over ten years I have worked in the mental health field, providing individual, couples, family and group psychotherapy to diverse client populations. I have extensive training and experience working with adults across the lifespan to address issues such as depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive behaviors, trauma and abuse. I treat individuals dealing with addiction, grief and loss, relationship conflict, women’s issues, family-related stress, low self-esteem and life transition issues. I also offer therapy to caregivers, affected others, and those experiencing medical, financial, academic and occupational stressors.
Therapy Approach
My approach is client-centered and strengths-based with an emphasis on establishing a genuine, empathic, safe, and trusting therapeutic alliance. I offer support and understanding, while encouraging enhanced coping skills, symptom management and decision-making skills, as well as an increased sense of self-awareness, acceptance and empowerment.
I utilize various treatment modalities, including insight-oriented, solution-focused, interpersonal, and cognitive-behavioral therapy techniques based upon the specific needs of each client. I am passionate about the therapeutic process and am dedicated to helping clients maximize their potential in order to live a more fulfilling and enriched life.
