Therapy Approach

I provide therapy to adolescents and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, addictions, grief, post-partum depression, pregnancy loss, infertility, eating disorders, relationship problems, family issues, academic and occupational stress, life transitions, and physical illness. My background is eclectic. I have a masters degree in social work, education, and engineering. I also am a certified yoga teacher which I incorporate into my social work practice through mindfulness and relaxation techniques. I love to learn and am always pursuing advanced trainings to stay current in my practice. I am passionate and committed to my work with clients; it has enriched and deepened my life.

I believe that everyone has the power to heal, grow, and change through therapy. By listening attentively, non-judgmentally, and compassionately, I hope to provide a space where clients feel safe in sharing their stories. My therapeutic approach is collaborative, strength-based, and holistic. It is informed by psychodynamic, relational, and cognitive-behavioral theories. My colleagues and clients would describe my therapeutic style as supportive, nurturing, authentic, active, validating, and insight-building.

Deciding to enter therapy takes courage, strength, and commitment. However, a successful therapeutic relationship can lead to improved health and well-being of mind, body, and spirit.
