Therapy Approach
As a therapist, life, and business coach my goal is to help you to understand and cope with difficult, challenging, and often painful situations in your life. I work collaboratively with you to help you create strategies to overcome barriers to your success and happiness at school, work, and in personal and family relationships. My approach is very much tailored to the needs and wishes of the person with whom I work, is very active, supportive, and collaborative. My specialty is assisting people of all ages in managing their fears and anxieties, cope with grief and loss, helping parents and teens, as well as providing support, and encouragement to cope with crucial life stage decisions and changes. My therapy approach draws from a wide range of therapeutic interventions.
In addition to therapy, I provide business and life coaching. Some people choose to work with me as a coaching client because they feel that they do not need or want mental health treatment, but rather, need someone who can serve as a non-judgmental, supportive, and sometimes challenging mentor who can help them to take a different look at their challenges, keep them focused to strategize solutions, explore barriers to success, review consequences, and implement action steps to moving forward in life.
I have sought extensive clinical training and experience as a clinician and as a manager in both the for-profit and non-profit world. I also sought additional training in mediation and negotiation to better enable my clients to learn and master these helpful skills in their relationships at the workplace and home.
