Adolescents and adults
I believe the therapeutic alliance is the foundation for valuable therapy. I have been described as warm, empathic, validating and non-judgmental. I tailor the therapy to each client but tend to incorporate aspects of cognitive behavioral therapy, psychoeducation, mindfulness based stress reduction, as well as motivational interviewing. My approach tends to be client-centered. I try and help my clients understand old patterns of behavior and learn to develop greater flexibility in the here and now. I have a therapy dog that I bring to sessions upon request.
